A woven lattice of flexible branches or split bamboo plastered over with a rich, fibrous earthen mix. Wattle and daub is one of the oldest and most resilient building methods known to humanity. It creates a lightweight, breathable envelope that flexes with the earth and wraps spaces in an organic, hand-sculpted warmth.




Non-load-bearing infill walls within timber or bamboo structural frames, interior partitions, curved enclosures, and upper-story walls where minimising structural weight is essential.
A woven structural matrix (wattle) of split bamboo, reed, or locally coppiced branches, heavily plastered (daubed) with a blended mix of clay-rich soil, sand, and strong natural fibres like straw or rice husk to prevent cracking.
Highly vapour-permeable, allowing the building to “breathe” and naturally regulate indoor humidity; the textured earthen surface softens acoustics and provides moderate thermal buffering without trapping excess heat.
Exceptionally earthquake-resistant due to its woven, flexible core; utilises hyper-local, fast-renewable materials; easily repairable by hand; and fully biodegradable at the end of its structural life.
