Rammed Earth

Moist earth compacted layer by layer inside formwork until it becomes stone-like; each lift leaving a visible stratum, so the finished wall reads like a geological record of its own making.

Landartistry’s signature technique is among the most thermally comfortable walls a home can have.

Application

Load-bearing walls for residences, farmhouses, and retreats; boundary walls, landscape elements, and interior feature walls that double as the home’s thermal engine.

Comfort

Massive 300–450 mm walls absorb the day’s heat and release it overnight, keeping interiors up to 6°C cooler; breathable, humidity-buffering, and acoustically calm, no paint, no off-gassing.

Features

was built from, a wall that ages like landscape and can ultimately return to the ground.

Composition

Site-tested soil: roughly 50–70% sand and gravel, 15–25% silt, 10–20% clay as the natural binder with a low dose of stabiliser (5–8%) only where exposure demands it, rammed in 10–15 cm lifts.
