Crafting spaces that are deeply rooted in the land.

Landartistry crafts healthy, climate-responsive homes, farmhouses, and retreats across India blending sustainable design with natural materials like earth, mud, and stone.

Who are we?

We build homes that
belong to their land.

Landartistry is a South India–based sustainable architecture studio designing and building eco-friendly homes that respond to climate, culture, and landscape. Inspired by the traditions of India and age-old techniques of earth construction, our work combines natural materials, climate-responsive design, and site-specific building practices to create homes that respond to their land. Guided by the philosophy of Laurie Baker and the research of the Auroville Earth Institute, we collaborate with regional artisans and craftspeople to deliver sustainable, low-impact homes rooted in place.

Architecture

Climate-responsive design rooted in natural materials, landscape, and the rhythms of the site.

Natural Construction

Rammed earth, mud walls, lime plaster executed with precision by a skilled network of artisans.

Sustainable Living

Homes and farmhouses designed for thermal comfort, low energy use, and a quieter relationship with place.

Landscape Integration

Buildings that work with their surroundings not placed on them, but grown from them.

Our Work

Spaces that speak for themselves.

Values we stand by

Principles that guide
Every stone placed.

Material Honesty

We work with earth, lime, stone, bamboo and wood in their purest form, respecting their properties rather than masking them - zero synthetic finishes as standard.

Site-Specific Design

Every project begins with the land, architecture emerges from its context, community and people - no projects are the same.

Low Carbon

Cement use minimised on every project - natural building techniques radically reduce embodied carbon. Construction accounts for ~40% of global CO₂ - our homes are built to lower that number.

Thermal Comfort

Clients report up to 6°C cooler interiors Earthen walls regulate temperature naturally, keeping interiors cool in summer and warm in cooler months without mechanical intervention.

Local Knowledge

Vernacular wisdom informs every design. We draw from traditions shaped by centuries of climate, soil, and culture.

Artisan-Centric

Local craftspeople are integral collaborators in every project; their knowledge systems are preserved and strengthened through practice, rather than extracted.

Collaborations

Creative minds building together.
